Most people think of April 15th as TAX Day. But did you know that April 15th is also National Laundry Day? You might be asking yourself, "Why is there a "National Day" designated to Laundry? Is it really necessary? Well, one reason I can think of is that it creates an opportunity for us to review our laundry habits, and possibly learn new strategies to make the task of doing laundry a lot faster and easier to do.
Did you know?...
The average American family does 8–10 loads of laundry each week. Depending on the size of those loads, doing the laundry takes (on average) 3 hours to complete each week.
That means the average American family is spending 6.5 DAYS each year just doing laundry!!!

So Here are Some Simple Tips for Getting the Laundry Done Faster & Easier
Make it fun: Put on some music, a podcast, or a TV show while you're folding laundry.
Enlist help: Folding laundry doesn't have to be a one-person job. Many hands make light work. Children as young as 5 are capable of sorting clothes into simple categories. Children 5-7 years of age can run clean laundry back into the rooms they belong in. Children as young as 7 are capable of folding towels, and with the aid of folding boards (as seen below), they can even fold t-shirts and pants!
Lose your inner perfectionist. Done is better than perfect. No one will be coming into your home to inspect/judge your folding technique.
Create a routine that works best for you. It should be something that can realistically fit into your schedule. Laundry is one of those tasks that leaves pockets of time open during their running cycles. You could schedule your laundry time when you're normally doing other chores around the house. That way, you can get your chores and the laundry done all in one go.
Use alarms to keep you on track. How many of us leave our laundry in the dryer for days because we forgot about them? Simply set the alarm on your phone to make sure you don't forget.

Dress pants/slacks: after 2-3 wearings.
Jeans: after 4-5 wearings.
How often should you wash bedding?
It will depend on how many people are sleeping in the bed, or whether pets are allowed on the bed. But basically...

Sheets: Every 1-2 weeks (can be a bit longer if you routinely shower before bed each night)
Comforters: Once a week if you don't use a top sheet, or once a month if you do.
